Resort Profile Set in the Carpathian Mountains just under 200km from Bucharest and a 20 minute drive from the town of Brasov, this is a purpose built 1950s slightly extended resort village enjoying a scenic pine forest location. The ski area is pretty small by European standards and is best suited to beginners and early intermediates. The resort is little more than a collection of hotels, restaurants and a sports centre. There is no snow-making to speak of, so the lower beginners runs sometimes lack cover early and late season, but they are floodlit for night skiing. There is a gentle area just at the top of the main gondola. These open, easy slopes are served by a couple of drag lifts.
